Does this sound familiar? The MTU Huskies were outshot 51-18
at Lake Superior State, but do to outstanding goaltending
came away with a 2-2 OT tie against defending National champion
Lake Superior State. It was the first time since the 1970's
that Lake Superior State opened the season with 2 games at home
without winning. The were beaten last night by Northern Mich
6-5 in OT.
The only difference in tonights game was that Jamie Ram has graduated
and moved on to the Binghamton Rangers (and at last check was undefeated)
an sophmore Luciano Caravaggio was the man coming up big in the nets
for the Huskies tonight. Luc kept the huskies in the game in the
first period (gee when have I said that before!) as the Lakers outshot
the huskies 31-6, but only held a 1-0 lead after 1 period. The lakers felsner
scored his 4th goal of the weekend in the first period. The lakers
scored one in the second as did the HUskies, to make it 2-1 after 2
Freshman Craig Perrett scored his first goal as a huskie with 11:7
make that 11:57 to go in the game to tie it up. The Huskies had
a good scoring chance in the beginning of the OT, before Shegos called
a tripping penality at 2:18 of the OT on Pat Mikesch. The Huskies
were able to kill that off and hold on for the tie.

The Undefeated ;-) Huskies return home next friday and Saturday to
open their WCHA schedule against Denver.

Just after the game Assistant Coach Scott White was quoted as saying:
  JAMIE WHO? ;-)
