As a die-hard UNH fan, it pains me to say this, but: Congratulations to the Maine Black Bears. It was a great game, and certainly not a cheap win for Maine. I've never seen a game where so many of the shots by both teams were legitimate scoring chances. In my opinion, the injustice for the Black Bear season was not that Kariya didn't get the Hobey but that Alfie Michaud was not first team HE goalie. The save of the game, and probably the season, was when Sadowski came across the front of the net, and Alfie's arm stretched by about four inches, just enough to block the shot.

Was Alfie named tournament MVP? (Was there an MVP?) ESPN cut away far too fast after the game was over. Guess college hockey was cutting into something important....

And on the subject of ESPN: I'm still convinced they hired the producers of Homicide to decide camera shots. They cut from shot to shot so fast, they were often focusing on players who were way out of the play. They also showed an interview with Walsh while the game was going on.
