Yes, the Players Corner Pub is alive and rocking.  More than that, Mayor
Cianci forced the second floor adult bookstore up the block (at the
corner across from Trinity Square Repertory Company's Lederer Theatre)
to vacate and a new upscale Italian restaurant is due to open next month
in the space which was completely restored to reflect the exterior
architecture and ambiance of its original use -- a Packard automobile
showroom.
 
Also, Trinity BrewPub has taken the place of the Burger King which was
located directly across the square from the main entrance to the
Providence Civic Center -- another good spot for a Hockey-L reunion
.....they have a private dining room downstairs for group parties.
