I think the truth with the WCHA and UNO has been somewhere between "We
will admit you" and "Piss off. Bemidji State got told to piss off. The
moratorium the WCHA put on applications specifically excluded UNO.
 
And we don't really know just how inviting the CCHA is. I would wager
that acceptance may not be a sure thing there. There is a lot of distance
between flirting and marriage.

It doesn't sound like it. It seems that the WCHA is placing UNO under the
same conditions that were present for Mankato (and I'm willing to bet,
Anchorage and St. Cloud). I don't see the problem.
 
That said, I think the WCHA is a much better long-term fit for UNO. This
is not just based on geographic reasons, but the fact that UNO is in the
North Central Conference with UND, Mankato and SCSU.
