Dave's post about the Quebec City Pee Wee Tourney is right on target. Pee Wees
(12-13s) from all over the world compete over a ten day period with feature
games played in the Colisee. It was one of the best youth hockey coaching
experiences I ever had and the food in q city c'est magnifique! There
probably is a greater percentage of NHL players that have played in the PW
Tournye than LL World series and mL baseball. The fans fill up the Colisee and
they literally watch ten hockey games in a row. In 1987 the Ferraros were the
big item and Peter broke Wayne Gretzky's tournament scoring record. Each NHL
team is represented by a youth hockey team- the Ranger (from Rye NY) team
featured the 2 ferraro; Ryan Haggerty, and seven other D1 hockey players and
they won the whole tourney including a stunning trouncing of Quebec City
Nordique. If you really want to be consumed by good hockey - this is the
place. Even the hockey parents were fairly well behaved.
