I don't remember thinking much about the reffing in either game the HE crew
was involved in.  That usually is a sign that they did an OK job, neither
influencing the outcome nor allowing a jailbreak.  What I do remember about
Cole's officiating is all those "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalties.  In the
ECAC we tend to call them "hitting after the whistle", "roughing" etc.  I guess
that's just one of his idiosyncracies.
 
I'd be more concerned if the series had Mike Noeth, the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyyde
of ECAC officiating.
