>This doesn't seem like offensive futility to me, rather it seems like a very
typical LSSU game.

Perhaps I used a poor choice of words. Maybe "scoring futility" would have
better conveyed my ideas. I didn't intend to knock the Laker offense, only to
note their inability to finish their fine offensive attacks and counterattacks.
Attibuted that to the skill of Tim Thomas is undoubtedly the main reason. One
question I wondered however: do those who follow the team feel that the Lakers
have fewer pure goal scorers this year. I can think of Brian Rolston who had
the sniper's touch around the goal as the traditional Laker offensive star.
Guess it's a chicken and egg thing: did the lack of a finisher (and I don't know
this to be the case) make Thomas's job easier, or did Thomas's play neutralize
the finishers on the Laker team.

>Well I am not sure that I have espoused this opinion. For the record, I b
believe the games belong to the teams first.

Apologies to Mr. Machnik on the misquote. Impossible to argue with the second
point.
