Danny Hanson, a native of Minot, North Dakota, has signed a
National Letter of Intent to attend Lake Superior State University, Head
Coach Jeff Jackson announced today.
Hanson, a 6-1, 200-pound right wing, was the playoff MVP for the
Billings Bulls of the American Frontier Junior Hockey League (AFHL) this
season. He led the Bulls to a runner-up finish in the league playoffs.
"Danny is a bigger, more-physical Joe Blaznek," said Jackson,
referring to the sophomore wing whose quick, physical style won him a
starting job as a walk-on. "He's a young man who has been overlooked.
We think he could be a pleasant surprise as a collegiate player."
The addition of Hanson brings the total to five student-athletes
scheduled to join the defending CCHA Playoff Champions for the 1995-96
season. Lake State's other signees are:
*Tobin Praznik, 6-3, 210, RW, Nipawin (SJHL)/Winnipeg, Man.
*Jason Sessa, 6-1, 175, RW, Rochester (USHL)/Deer Park, NY
*Mike Kucsulain, 6-4, 205, LW/C, Compuware (NAJHL)/Troy, MI
*Trevor Demmans, 6-0, 195, D, Nipawin (SJHL)/Nipawin, Sask.
