All Race Fans:

It is that time of year again for fantasy racing! The Daytona 500 is
just a couple of weeks away!

Last year we had over 35 players participate in some level or another.
This year should be bigger & better with some minor tweaking that was
done to improve upon what we had last year.

Some of the rules have changed a bit and they are listed below.

If you have any interest at all, please send me an email or check out
the website at: www.golfweb.ws/5750 and look for Gomer's Racing on the
menu on the left to check out last years stats.

If you have any questions or ideas feel free to contact me.

See you at the races!

GOMERS FANTASY RACING 2005 RULES:

It consists of four Segments. Two Segments of 18 weeks within the 36
week season (Segment 1 is called the FOX Cup & Segment 2 is called the
NBC Cup), one Segment for the entire 36 week season (This is the overall
and is called the Gomers Cup), and the last Segment (The Chase) is for
the final ten weeks.

You can enter any Segment you wish and as many times as you wish.

Entry fee is $25 for each Segment.

Payment is required before the first race of each Segment. (If you want
to enter both the FOX Cup & Gomer's Cup, you will need to pay $50 before
the start of the Daytona 500)

You may only pick one driver for each race in each Segment. When
selecting that driver for a race, that driver is no longer eligible for
the rest of that Segment. You will earn points based on the driver you
selected earns. Scoring is based on the NASCAR point scoring system.

The deadline for making your selections for each race is 11:59 P.M.
Friday before each race. (Yes, this is after qualifying. NASCAR
qualifying has changed this year. The top 35 in owner's points
automatically are locked into top 35 positions on the starting grid.
Qualifying only takes place for position and to field places 36-43).
This deadline has changed from the past due to the Gomer's Cup Segment.
In the Gomer's Cup, there will be the need to select drivers that may
not always make each race. (The pick for week one of each Segment is
due by the start of that race to allow for any new member late entries)
If you do not make a selection, a selection will be made for you. (See
rules below).

Fox Cup Segment: $25 Entry Fee

The FOX Cup will start with the February 20, 2005, Daytona 500 Race and
finish with the July 11, 2003, Tropicana 400 in Chicago. There are
eighteen races in the Fox Cup. (The All-Star race at Lowes is not scored
in the league as this is an invitational race.)

NBC Cup Segment: $25 Entry Fee

The NBC Cup will start with the July 17, 2005, New Hampshire
International Speedway Race and finish with the November 20, 2005,
Homestead-Miami Race. There are eighteen races in the NBC Cup.

The Gomer's Cup Segment: $25 Entry Fee

The Gomer's Cup will start with the February 20, 2005, Daytona 500 Race
and finish with the November 20, 2005, Homestead-Miami Race. There are
thirty-six races in the Gomer's Cup.

The Chase Segment: $25 Entry Fee

The Chase will start with the September 18, 2005, New Hampshire
International Speedway Race and finish with the November 20, 2005,
Homestead-Miami Race. There are ten races in The Chase. The Chase
Segment only allows you to select drivers that are eligible in NASCAR'S

Spinout Cup:

The "Spin-out Cup" is for those individuals that are not faring so well
in each Segment. Should you find yourself so far down the standings
that you think there is no chance of making up ground and getting "into
the money", well, we have created the "Spin-out Cup". The team that
finishes in last place will receive a paid entry into the next upcoming
Segment. If you select a driver that has not qualified for the race,
your selection will be treated as a no pick and you will receive the
last qualified driver until a selection can be made.

The League Manager will receive one paid entry for all Segments. Should
the web developer get his game on and get our user friendly and very
pick-selection friendly website up and running, he will receive one paid
entry for each Segment as well.

Driver Eligibility & Selection:

Each race week, you must select a driver for each Segment entered. Your
driver selection must be submitted to the League Manager by 11:59 P.M.
Friday before each race. NO EXCEPTIONS! You may submit picks well in
advance (several weeks if you like).

A driver is eligible to race for your team just once for each segment
entered. Example: If you entered the FOX Cup and you selected Tony
Stewart for the Daytona 500, you cannot use him again in the FOX Cup
segment.

Any team that does not submit a driver or picks a driver after the
deadline will automatically be given the last qualified driver in the
race. If you have selected that driver for that segment previously, you
will receive the next highest qualified driver until a selection may be
made. Any team that selects a driver more than once or does not start
the race due to injury or suspension, that selection will be changed to
the last qualified driver.

The lineups will be posted or distributed to all teams by Saturday at
Noon. Always verify your selection and report errors immediately to the
League Manager.

Send picks to League Manager: [log in to unmask]

Your driver selection will earn points based on where your driver
finishes in the race. Points are based on the NASCAR points system.

Penalties:

From time to time, NASCAR will levy fines and point penalties to
drivers. If the driver you had selected gets penalized driver points by
NASCAR for illegal equipment for the race you selected that driver for,
we will reduce your point total to reflect NASCAR'S penalties. If a
driver loses driver points because of driving incidents, on track, or
off track behavior, you will not lose those driver points. (Basically,
the only way you will lose points is if your driver selection cheated
with equipment and that cheating may have earned a higher finish than if
they did not cheat)

Standings:

The league standings will be distributed/posted most of the time by
Sunday night but will be guaranteed to be posted by Tuesday after each
race.

In the event of a tie, the following tiebreaker will be used:

1. Highest average finish

2. Most bonus points for drivers that qualified on the pole

3. Most bonus points for drivers leading a lap

4. Most bonus points for drivers leading the most laps

5. Split prize fund (if 1st and 2nd, add the two prizes and split the
fund)

Daily Double:

Each week $5 will be put into the Daily Double pool. The Daily Double is
for selecting a winning driver two races in succession. If any team
achieves this feat, they will win the amount in the Daily Double
progressive pot. The pot will build $5 each week until we have a winner
and will then start over again. *Note: When you win a Dailey Double, you
are not eligible to win the very next week again. You must start the
Dailey Double over and win two in a row again to win the pool.

Gomer's Dash:

Each week, $5 will be put into the Gomer's Dash pool. The "Gomer's Dash"
will offer a designated number of teams (Based on entries and this
number will be posted after race 1) teams the opportunity to win money
weekly. Those teams are determined by league standings. Last season, the
positions eligible were 1st, 11th, 21st, and 31st. Eligible teams submit
their driver selection, like any other week. If their selected driver
wins the race, they will win the pool. The pool starts like the "Dailey
Double" at $5 and $5 is added each week.

Rules Committee:

The Rules Committee will be formed once the membership is set after the
Daytona 500. Each entrant will select someone other than themselves or
a relative to be on the Rules Committee. The top three will be voted
in, should they accept the position.

Appeals:

Appeals must be made to the League Manager. The League Manager will
present the case to the League Appointed Rules Committee. An example
might be someone using Jeff Gordon twice and the League Manager did not
catch it. The Rules Committee will review the appeal and take the
necessary corrective action.

Please keep in mind this is for fun. This is not to be like real racing
where gray areas in the rules are to be exploited.

If any rule issues are not covered, let me know so that they can be
addressed and added.
