Colorado College completes a season sweep of Minnesota for the second year
in a row tonight, defeating the Gophers 3-1. The Tigers didn't have an
easy go of it however, as Minnestoa played much better tonight.

The Gophers made the first strike tonight in the first period, with Matt
Leimbek getting the goal past Jeff Sanger at the 5 minute mark. CC and
Minnesota traded power play opportunities, but no one was able to get
anything in. 5 seconds after CC's second opportunity expired, Scott
Swanson got his third goal of the series to tie things up. Shots were
about even, with the Tigers having a 11-10 edge.

The second period brought 3 power plays for the Gophers and one for the
Tigers, but no scoring. With about 5 minutes left in the period, CC
thought they had taken the lead with a second goal, but Robin Anderson
waived it off, instead calling a bench minor on the Tigers for too many
men on the ice. CC fans were not happy. Shots were still about even again,
this time the Gophers taking a 10-8 edge.

The Tigers got two more man advantages in the third period, and this time
Justin Morrison finally gave CC the lead on the second one, with about 6
minutes left. Jeff Sanger got his third assist of the season, all of them
on game-winning goals so far. Adam Hauser was pulled with 1:38 left in the
game for the extra attacker, and the Gophers had a few rushes on net, but
CC had a couple of shots on the empty net at the other end, and Morrison
sealed the win with less than 3 seconds left.

This weekend was the first series that K.J. Voorhees has played in this
season, finally recovered from back problems. He looked good.

Next up for the Tigers is a road trip to Madison for their only meeting of
the season with the Wisconsin Badgers next week.
