As far as women's teams going varsity, there is a 95% chance that women's
hockey, along with men's soccer, will be going varsity at Michigan for the
1999-2000 season. This was discussed at an athletic department meeting a
couple months ago, and they voted to go ahead with it, but it's pending the
approval of another committee. Apparantly, though, the second committe is
little more than a rubber stamp, and it's almost definately going to happen.
