But as I said before, I think Bob may be getting a bad rap here. Something
Tony pointed out to me tonight is that it is entirely possible that Bob
pushed Lowell for the East but was outvoted 3-1. Yet it would still be Bob
who would be blamed. At some point I'm going to find out the scoop and
wind up telling you all, "I told you so," I am sure of that. :-)

But in 1993-94, Lowell was picked 3rd. They wound up 2nd. They were very
much respected that year going into the season. This year, I doubt you
would find more than a couple of people who even thought Lowell would
finish top 4. This was a year in which Lowell greatly exceeded everyone's
expectations. That always happens with various teams every year, but it
doesn't indicate a lack of respect. Respect is something you have to earn.
Lowell did that this year, the seedings aside.

So they did get respect. :-)

One reason Lowell will be dangerous is that Bruce will be able to motivate
them, as if their placement isn't enough motivation. They are a higher
seed than MSU, but he will have them believing that as you said, they are
the underdog and not respected. A team as good as they are that also feels
it has something to prove will be tough.
