The Selection Committee did an outstanding job with this year's
selections. As I earlier predicted, Lake State goes East as #3 and
Minnesota stays West. Comley stated that he avoided as much as possible
matchups in regionals between league rivals. Only one possible matchup
with two league teams exists if Lake State is upset by Cornell setting up
Vermont-Cornell before the Final Four. Michigan had higher PWR rating than
Vermont and Lake State higher than Minnesota so Michigan and Minnesota
paired and Vermont-Lake State. The PWR ratings should have Mass-Lowell
ahead of Michigan State since Lowell wins tiebreaker head-to-head with
MSU despite tied in PWR ratings. Lowell had last 20 and teams under
consideration and State only had RPI. No head-to-head or common
opponents. Lowell gets #4 and MSU gets #5 for that reason making it clear
why Western has #4 East and Clarkson #5 East. #6 East Cornell in Albany
because of better fan base and stronger PWR rating than #6 West Providence.

Congratulations to the NCAA Division I Tournament Selection Committee on
an outstanding job!!
