BOSTON COLLEGE 4, at NORTHEASTERN 1 (Fri)
BC goalie Scott LaGrand continues to make himself a case for All-America
as he faced 49 Huskie shots and stopped 48 to walk away with the game's
number one star. NU coach Ben Smith said that he wanted his team to get
a lot of shots on LaGrand and they did, but when a goalie comes up with
a performance like that, there's not much you can do. What did LaGrand
say after stopping the most shots he's ever stopped at any level of hockey?
"I wanted to see some more shots."

With his team on a losing streak, Smith opted to sit out senior goalie Tom
Cole and give freshman Todd Reynolds his first start ever. Reynolds
made 19 saves on the night. The Eagles went up 1-0 with 9:01 left in the
first when David Franzosa tipped Ian Moran's shot past Reynolds. Then,
NU's Chris Foy was hit with a major for hitting from behind at 13:43, and
39 seconds later Joe Cleary gave BC a 2-0 lead. That was the only goal
of the major, however.

In the second period, Northeastern fired 25 shots on LaGrand but only one
beat him. At 10:47, Rob Kenny put his own rebound in to make it 3-1.
Four minutes earlier, Marc Beran had given BC a 3-0 lead. The Huskies
continued their assault on LaGrand, but he was perfect. The Eagles' Sal
Manganaro finished the scoring with 7:01 left for the 4-1 final.

at PROVIDENCE 8, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 5 (Fri)
I obtained the official summary of this game from PC SID Tim Connor and
will post it separately.

at MAINE 8, ALASKA-FAIRBANKS 1 (Fri)
The Black Bears built a 5-0 lead after two periods and cruised to the
sweep, having beaten UAF 6-5 the night before in a game that wasn't as
close as the score indicates. Brian Downey had 2-2--4, Jim Montgomery
had 1-2--3, Jean-Yves Roy had 2-1--3, and Cal Ingraham had 2-1--3.
Maine outshot the Nanooks, 39-13.

at NEW HAMPSHIRE 7, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 4 (Sat)
See Chris Craig's excellent posting on this game. One additional note
is that Lively Snively was sold out as Wildcat fans are truly going ape
over this team.

at UMASS-LOWELL 7, KENT 4 (Sat)
No details.

at MERRIMACK 5, KENT 4 (Fri)
at PROVIDENCE 4, MERRIMACK 0 (Sun)
I posted a story on MC-Kent Friday and will post the MC-PC story separately.

SCHEDULE NOTE
NU at Maine Wed will be the final HE league game until Fri Dec 6, as all
eight teams will be playing several NLG over the Thanksgiving break.
