A special capsule prediction for each playoff series follows can be
found in separate postings, but first a recap and a brief overview of
the upcoming action.
 
First off, let's recap how CHODR performed in the last week of the
regular season: CHODR had a fairly good week, correctly picking 23 of
the 33 games decided in regulation (69.7%).  The regaulr season
totals stand at 288 out of 433 (66.5%).
 
Now we'll quickly summarize the game predictions for the playoff
series in each league.  Not surprisingly, the home teams are favored

All series are Friday and Saturday, March 11 and 12 with the third
game on Sunday, March 13, if necessary, except for the Merrimack at
Mass-Lowell series which is Thursday and Friday with the third game
Saturday if needed.
 
 
Before we get to the series capsules, it's important to point out
that the playoff format is not the same in all leagues.  The CCHA,
WCHA, and Hockey East are all using the same format, which is a
best-of-three series with overtimes in each game until a winner
emerges.  In the ECAC however, there is no overtime in the first two
games, so a win and a tie wins the series and two ties means a third
game.  The third game will have overtime if necessary until a winner
emerges.
 
The probabilities listed in each capsule reflect the difference in
the playoff formats.  Most of the numbers shown should be
self-explanatory.  The first three lines in each capsule are for
individual games while the other probabilities are for various series
