Jim Montgomery and Paul Kariya teamed up Saturday night for Maine
as the Black Bears defeated the UMass-Lowell Chiefs 4-2 in front of
a packed Harold Alfond Sports Arena on the UMaine campus.
Montgomery had two goals and an assist while Kariya garnered two
more assists. In doing so, Kariya set a new freshman record for
points in a season with 67. Kariya also set a new UMaine record
for most consecutive games with at least one point - 24.
Maine remains undefeated in Hockey East play and is still the
only undefeated Div. I team in the nation with a 28-0-2 record.
