DiCasmirro named USA Hockey Junior of Year
Burnsville's Nate DiCasmirro was named USA Hockey Junior Player of the
Year.
The award goes to the outstanding American-born player in junior hockey
as selected by a
panel of junior coaches and administrators.
DiCasmirro, who played for the North Iowa Huskies of the United States
Hockey League
for three seasons, will join St. Cloud State's hockey team this fall.
DiCasmirro, a forward, finished the 1997-98 season as the second-leading
scorer in the
USHL with 74 points (29 goals and 45 assists) in 52 games. His assist
total set a team
season record.
DiCasmirro was a member of the USA Hockey Junior Domestic All-Star Team
that
finished first in the International Junior Tournament in Bern,
Switzerland, in December. He
also played for the 1997-98 USHL Select Team that won the gold medal at
the Four
Nations Tournament in Fussen, Germany, in November of 1997.
