Does anybody else feel the same way I do? This was about as bad as
officiating can get in a hockey game. Sure, UND played a good game, but
tonight UND did not outplay the Gophers.. UND took what the officials
gave them.
I can think of some glaring instances:
UND scores on a 5 on 3. Dave Larson is called for an elbow, then a few
seconds later, Wyatt Smith gets called for interference, the result of a
UND player falling down on a pick attempt as Wyatt was following the UND
puck carrier who was carrying the puck around the net.
2 icing non-calls: One was earlier in the third, but the last one came
with the GOphers pulling their goalie.. UND's player was 5 feet on his
side of the center red line and shot it hard down the ice, no icing??
Come on..
I wonder what the final pp's were? UND had 11 last I saw.. The
officiating in this game was a tad on the ridiculous side. Judging from
WOog's reaction at game's end, he thought so too.
