<< It was just announced today that Stan Moore the men's head coach has

announcement on the TV news stated that the reason was the slump of the
team this past year from its previous years. >>

If that's true, this is truly sad news for Union. Just when they were
beginning to have an impact in the league, the coach that was supposed to move
them up the ladder leaves after only a couple of seasons. Its doubtful that
this is a surprise to Union College, but it still means that they have to find
a new coach, and its already late in the summer, with on-ice practice starting
in about a month and a half. What a lousy position to be in.

There really isn't much doubt Colgate needed the help, though. They have
underachieved the last few seasons. They started out hot last season, but
from the Christmas tournament on they were just flat. Not to take anything
away from Niagara, but Colgate barely squeaked out a 4-3 OT win over them at
the SIT. Up until then, they were 10-3, then won only 5 of their last 20, and
finished the season on an 8-game winless streak. So obviously they needed
some help somewhere.

BTW, wasn't Stan Moore an assistant at Colgate before he took the head coach
job at Union?
