Walsh spoke on the radio for the first time since the appeal decision..

Walsh was disappointed in the language of the appeal saying that he feels
the NCAA cleared him in July and because they wanted to justify their
decision now, they chose to point a finger at him.

Walsh acknowledged that he made mistakes, but said hindsight is 20-20.

Walsh also said on the way down to UMass he talked with each player
individually and only 1 of 23 expressed disappointment in the decision.

Walsh also indicated that he planned to start Alfie Michaud even before
Javier Gorriti came up sick with the flu, and now has fluid in his lungs.
Gorriti did not make the trip to Amherst.
