The Colorado College, 1900 FTE strong, does not have a pep band, at
least not that I've seen, and I watch them compete in at least 6
sports. Even if they did, i understand the cost of getting a band,
or even rooting students, would have been prohibitive. A 50 person
bus would have cost about $5800 and then one must figure at least 4
meals on the road, a couple of night's lodging and meals while in
cincinnati, and the cost becomes prohibitive. The number I heard
batted about was $300 per student.
