Princeton defeated Colgate friday night, 5 - 4. Jr Ian Sharp
scored two first period goals, and Soph Jason Smith scored the
game winning goal in the third period on the power play.
As John Meier has already pointed out, the Officials were
kept very busy in this one. The first two periods were very
'chippy' to say the least. Jason Smith and Malfol (sp?) of
Colgate got into a scuffle in the second period and had to be
separated by the Officials; I thought both players should have
been ejected for fighting, but instead were given only minor
penalties.
The Tiger special team play still needs work. Colgate scored
three of it's four goals on the power play; Princeton only
scored one when a man up. With Jason Smith's 6-4 frame back
in the lineup, the Tiger power play should improve.
