Junior left wing Patrice Tardif had a hat trick at Maine's
Alfond Arena tonight as the UMaine Black Bear's completed
their weekend mauling of the Merrimack Warriors with an
11-2 win.
Senior center Eric Fenton continued to shine, getting a couple
more goals and an assist or two, while freshman standout Paul
Kariya continued to be at the center of things with a few more
assists and at least one goal. Captain Jim Montgomery extended
his scoring streak against the Warriors to 12 games.
The game featured several confrontations after the whistle,
which the referees would have nothing of, placing both
Merrimack and Maine players in the penalty box.
Maine had over 50 shots on goal, while Merrimack had just
over 20.
