In a between-periods interview in Fairbanks, CCHA
Commissioner Tom Anastos said December 11th's sold-out
Michigan-Michigan State game in Ann Arbor is expected
to draw 112,000. That should re-tweak the world record
from the 74,544 who showed up for their other outdoor
game on 10/6/2001. Michigan has signed Red Berenson to
an additional three years as coach, apparently
satisfied with his attendance figures.
Today (11/7) is the 42nd anniversary of Berenson's
six-goal road game for the St. Louis Blues in Philly.
(It was actually more like 6-1/2. The first #6 only
hit the crossbar so they made him keep trying till he
got it right.)
