Scoring by Period Penalties Power Plays Overall Records (League)
SCSU 0-0-1=1 SCSU 4 for 8 SCSU 0 for 3 SCSU 13-2-1 (11-2-1 )
CC 2-3-0=5 CC 4 for 8 CC 0 for 3 CC 9-6-1 ( 5-6-1 )
four of the goals were at the far end, and i really can't tell
you if the red light down there was fixed or not. For all 4 of
them, even these tired old eyes saw them go in.
Shots on Goal by Period Saves by Period (with Minutes Played)
SCSU 9- 8- 8 - 25 Dean Weasler (SCSU) 16- 8- 9 -- 33 (60:00)
CC 18-11- 9 - 38 Curtis McElhinney (CC) 9- 8- 7 -- 24 (60:00)
CC did not sleep through the second period like yesterday
Freshman Curtis McElhinney does well in his first (i believe)
WCHA start. After this AMs headline "Stop goes the Weasler" to
describe the immense effort yesterday by the husky netminder,
I don't know what will spring from Thomas Harding's pen for
the sunday headline. Ring out the old, ring in the new.
Head Referee: Jon Campion Assistant Referees: Gary Pedigo, Tim Swiader
Scoring Penalties Time
FIRST PERIOD
G1-CC, ALEX KIM 7 (Richard Petiot 1, Mike Stuart 3).......................4:50
this came across the goal mouth (my) right to left and Kim
stuffed the puck high. how often do 2 Ds get assists
G2-CC, COLIN STUART 5 (*Joe Cullen 2, Andrew Canzanello 4)...............10:03
the puck seemed to go under a husky defender and there was a
bit of relaxing, but colin dug it out and circled around the
net
P1-SCSU, Nate DiCasmirro (2-roughing)....................11:00
P2-CC, Richard Petiot (2-roughing).......................11:00
a lesser referee would have only called petiots retaliation,
but campion saw dicasmirro's initial roughing and called them
both even though petiot did deck dicasmirro
on the ensuing 4 v 4 weasler gave up a juicy rebound that
sejna couldn't quite put away. Actually, the difference
between last night and tonight seemed to be that weasler was
giving up more rebounds. St cloud didn't play worse and CC
didn't seem better. There were rebounds and favorable bounces
P3-SCSU, Mike Doyle (2-tripping).........................15:34
SECOND PERIOD
P4-CC, Richard Petiot (2-interference)....................1:06
G3-CC, PETER SEJNA 7 (*Scott Polaski 5, Richard Petiot 2).................6:32
from low inside the right circle, sejna beat weasler cleanly
G4-CC, COLIN STUART 6 (Tom Preissing 13, *Curtis McElhinney 1)...........12:33
i thought this was a bit iffy. colin came on as part of a
change and caught the pass behind the defence and waltzed
(well, skated, actually) in and beat weasler rfom the inside
edge of the circle.
G5-CC, JAMES LAUX 1 (*Jason Krischuk 3, Chris Hartsburg 3)...............13:23
P5-CC, Mike Stuart (2-cross-checking)....................13:51
P6-CC, Scott Polaski (2-hooking).........................17:18
P7-SCSU, bench (2-too many men on the ice
(served by Mike Doyle))...................18:44
This was SO obvious that anybody at home, or even scott staudte
or greg rockenback (they were the assistant refs up in denver
tonight) would have had time to get to the arena, park the car,
buy a ticket, get a soda, and still have enough time to count
to 6.
THIRD PERIOD
G6-SCSU, RYAN LAMERE 4 (Mark Hartigan 14).................................4:10
oh well, there went the shutout on a screen from out near the
blue line
P8-SCSU, Ryan Malone (2-holding).........................19:50
it REALLY didn't absolutely HAVE to be called.
* indicates scoring change
i'm guessing it's guz one of the normal spotters was doing
somethig else and the second spotter was even blinder than me.
Prettier too, but i'm not supposed to notice that.
