Jamie Loewen is a very good goaltender. Need I say more? The second
period shot chart is the most telling of this - 29 shots attemped by UAA
to 7 for UAF. No goals were scored even though 9 shots were taken from
within 10 feet of the net.
The first goal for UAF was a rebound off of a 1-0 breakaway. Krake made
the initial pad save and a defensive lapse let Fedorchuk in for the
rebound.
UAA came back in the third with a rebound goal of their own. Loewen made
a nice save on the shot by Lorne Knauft but Mark Stitt was also there for
the rebound.
The game winner 3:37 into overtime was also a 1-0 breakaway with the
defensemen trailing close behind. The slap shot went right in, beating
Krake to the glove side.
The season series is at 4-2 UAA with possibly one more game in the
Independant Tourney. UAA is now 9-2 on the road.
