Having only been to Boston once before, I am excitedly looking forward
to the trip. And in planning for it, the following have really helped:
http://city.net/countries/united_states/massachusetts/boston/
This is EXCITE's travel service and has some nice information.
http://www.MapsOnUs.com/
Has by far the best set of maps available. Particularly useful is the
difference between "fastest route" for driving purposes and "shortest
route" for walking purposes. Both got me from the government center to
the FleetCenter, but by very different streets.
Naturally, Yahoo has a site exclusively for Boston:
http://boston.yahoo.com/
Only trick is that instead of the FleetCenter, the Boston Garden is the
listed arena.
The most locally informative site I've found was:
http://ftp.std.com/NE/boston.html
Great stuff, particularly their cityviews pictures and descriptions of
Haymarket, Statues, and Classic Buildings (they also rank "Boston's 10
Best Buildings).
And the previously mentioned Conventions and Visitors Bureau is found at
http://www.bostonusa.com/cgi-bin/db/visitor/visitor.htm
Anyone else have other suggestions for the weekend's Web brousing?
