Steve wrote that I contradicted myself so I thought I should clarify when I say
"in his first season of collegiate competition".

If a player is red-shirted (as approved by the league office) for his first
season at a university because of injury (or other circumstances) we feel that
should not preclude him from being eligible for the following seasons all-
rookie team.

I personally think it would be a shame if a player was injured within in the
first six games of his collegiate career, rehabilitated all season and all
summer and then was told you are not eligible for all-rookie team because you
played a game (or a couple of games) the previous year.

I hope this clears up any confusion!!!
