Gilbert Lee was indeed her husband and truly and remarkably devoted
until her end. I know they lived in reduced circumstances in Virginia.
Sheri told me that her husband's family disapproved of her. That's not
the word she used; her language was more colorful and involved
references to previous lives. That was Sheri.

To my knowledge, Richard Taylor visited them in Virginia.

I interviewed Sheri in Orono, in, I think, 1990, with Gilbert present.
They were clearly down on their luck and had some of her artwork for
sale so I bought two pieces, which I treasure. At the end of an
extensive and eccentric interview, I thanked her for her help. Gilbert
said "No, thank YOU for your patience."

That nice memoir, Kafka Was the Rage, has a chapter on Sheri, disguised
under another name.

Bill McNaughton knew her very well.

Cordially,

Tim
