Hey all. For the most part I've been a lurker around here, so whether

I beg to differ -- I've been to almost every game since October 1996,
and I have yet to not hear (or yell) "BC sucks!" at least 10 times
during *any* game; although much has been said about the lack of campus
unity here at BU, it's things like hockey (and such chants) that help
bring us together. Anyways, you can *definitely* count on hearing it
after a Terrier goal, right in the middle of the fight song.
Also, when BU goes on the power play, the band plays a song to which the
crowd responds "beat 'em up, beat 'em up, BC sucks!" (or -- especially
in the Dog Pound -- "#$@% 'em up, #$@% 'em up, BC sucks!").
Then usually towards the end of the game, somebody in Section 8 will
randomly start yelling "BC sucks! BC sucks!" until everybody else in
the Pound (and the rest of the arena) joins in. I remember I tried to
keep count of how many times the crowd yelled "BC sucks" during a game
against *Merrimack* last season, and I quickly lost count. :) Of
course, maybe the BU-BC rivalry (and frequency of that chant) was more
intense before I got here last year, but we're still bitter.
I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that "BC sucks!" is still
very much alive, though personally, I haven't heard too many jabs at
other schools; I don't think chants like "Maine sucks!" have quite the
same ring to them. :) Plus I think the fact that BC's just a jaunt
down the Green Line helps keep the rivalry going (a kind of "subway"
rivalry, if you will). And (hockeywise), BC is supposed to be a more
historical rival to BU than any other school in the east.
