The University of Maine Black Bears became the first team in Hockey
East history to win back to back regular season and tournament titles
after beating the Boston University Terriers 5-2 at Boston Garden.
 
Jim Montgomery and Mike Latendresse led the Bears, each scoring two
goals. Montgomery assisted Chris Imes on the Bears' fifth goal also.
 
Maine goalie Garth Snow had 28 saves on the night while Cashman
had 24 saves for BU.
