Yesterday someone asked about the NMU Wildcat goalies.
Corwin Saurdiff is a sophomore who played nearly every game last year
and set a new WCHA record for most wins by a freshman goal tender. This
year he started out inconsistently, and for the second half of the
season has been alternated on a strict rotational basis with . . .
Paul Taylor, a freshman.
Saudiff is from Warroad, Minnesota (spelling might be off a bit). I
don't know where Taylor is from.
There is a third goalie, Rob Kruhlak, a senior. He has been very
unfortunate. As a junior last year, he was a shoo-in to inherit the
graduated Bill Pye's place as the starter. But, then along came
freshman phenom Saurdiff. This year another frosh, Taylor, takes away
the other place in the rotation. I think Kruhlak only played two games,
very early this season.
