Benedetto is one of the most gutless referees I have ever seen.
 
His efforts to "equalize" penalties, and powerplay opportunities, is
nausiating at best.  Example...  in the overtime session, Bartlett got called
for the facemasking penalty.. a major plus game disq.  A questionable call at
best, but Barlett was quite animated during the altercation, so you never can
tell... Nevertheless, Benedetto went out on a limb to call it.
 
But to come back, within, 5? seconds or so of the start of this major penalty
and call BC for a holding penalty, which may have been an infraction, but in
an overtime... (for most refs with a brain) doubtful.  This was an ABSOLUTELY
UNMISTAKEABLE, AND BLATANT attempt to even things up.  It is a disgrace to the
game.  I AM SO SICK OF REFS TRYING TO EVEN THINGS UP, DONT ANY OF THEM HAVE
ANY GUTS, TO STAND UP FOR WHAT THEY CALL?

As if that wasnt enough... when that minor on BC had expired, he then
proceeded to call another penalty on BC, to ensure the bulk of the overtime
would be played at equal strength.  WHAT A JOKE.
 
Benedetto is a joke of a referee.  If you ever see him in any NCAA games.. be
prepared.
