Of course this could also be used as an arguments for shootouts. It could
be said that since the shootouts did not really change the standings at
the end of the year, the benefit to the league and tv coverage out weighs
the concerns of competition.
Not that I am for shootouts - I am just showing how one piece of information
can be used to argue both sides of the argument.
