Here are two interesting bits of information from USCHO:

10-08-97 Top UMass-Amherst Recruit Breaks Leg Jeff Turner, one of
UMass-Amherst's top recruits, broke his left fibula in the closing minutes
of the team's first practice. He is expected to be out until at least
January.

Turner was the number-two scorer in the United States Hockey League last
year with 88 points in 54 games, earning first-team all-star honors.

10-08-97 Injuries Ground Eagle Goalies
During recent practices, Boston College goaltenders Scott Clemmensen and
Mike Correia suffered injuries expected to keep them out of the Eagle
lineup for a short time, according to a release issued by the school.

Clemmensen, a freshman, fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his right
foot on Oct. 1 during a preseason conditioning workout. He is expected to
return to practice on Oct. 10.

Four days later, during an intrasquad scrimmage, junior Mike Correia
strained his left hamstring. Correia, who appeared in 11 games (3-5-1, 4.43
GAA, .850 SV%) last season, is expected back in two weeks.

Boston College hosts Ottawa in an exhibition game on Oct. 11, and opens its
season at home against Bowling Green on Oct. 17.
