Neff defends against disgruntled readers (including but not limited to Black
Bear Hockey faithfulls). Is it reader misconception or writer mutilation?

Sounding Off: sounds like a one way sounding board! Their prerequisite for
airing opinions should include opposing opinions--which seldom is the case.
Where's the concern for the readers, who are the buying part of the equation?
What do they get for their buck--a paper full of fire brand writing!

Does BDN inform or demoralize while they editorialize?
"That's News," Neff says. Reporting and Opinion, separate but equal! Do we
agree that he's got that down? Maybe not!

Neff's ending witticism: "If all the messengers were shot, the silence would
be deafening." Sophocles he's not!
