Woburn (September 22, 1997) -- The best of college hockey returns to
television this winter when the Hockey East Game of the Week airs on
SportsChannel New England. Details of the SCNE-HEA partnership were
released today by Marc Edwards, Senior Vice-President and General
Manager of SportsChannel New England, and Joe Bertagna, Commissioner of
Hockey East.

Under the agreement signed by both parties, SportsChannel agrees to
produce as many as 48 Hockey East games over the next three seasons,
combining a nine-week Game of the Week package with up to six
tournament games annually.

We at SportsChannel are extremely excited about our new Hockey East
relationship and television coverage, said Edwards. Our viewers are
going to see local college teams that dominate NCAA hockey on a
national level. By adding the best local college hockey to our program
line-up, it allows SportsChannel to continue its commitment and bring
quality local sports to the New England fan.

The 1997-98 package will debut on Saturday, January 10, 1998 when the
Black Bears of Maine visit the Eagles of Boston College. Seven of the
nine Hockey East schools are featured in the six announced games.

Everyone in the conference is thrilled at this exciting new
partnership, offered first-year Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna.
We will reach more homes than ever before and this means that more
New England hockey fans will be able to see the best college hockey in
the country.
