I also think the hockey-l should get back to scores.... scores
and more pertinent information.
Here's a few from Friday Jan. 29th
Canisius 1 at RIT 4
(10-5-1) (9-7-1) conference records
Hobart 1 at Mercyhurst 10
(10-6) (9-2)
Fredonia 3 at Potsdam 2
(4-3) (3-4-1) SUNY record
Brockport 4 at Plattsburgh 9
(2-5) (8-0) SUNYN record
At this point scores from EAST vs WEST vs SUNY matter BUT.....
records within each division are probably the MOST important.
In other words .... those folks in SUNY want to know SUNY
standings because only SUNY schools will play in SUNY playoffs.
In the WEST - only WEST will play in WEST playoffs (The top
4 West schools out of the 7). In the EAST - the top 8
out of the 17 (Amherst not included because of 1st year
status).
As I am in the ECAC WEST - I am keeping more of a focus on
that level of play than the others BUT I am interested
in the other conferences scores and tidbits and standings
but not personal or what appears to be irrelevant dialogue.
This is the time of year when college hockey is at a peak -
so lets get the scores out to everyone out there as quickly
as possible - even if its just a score - followed by -
a conference record.
ECAC WEST (CONFERENCE RECORDS AS OF 1/29/93)
1. Mercyhurst 9 - 2 .818
2. Elmira 12 - 4 .750
3. Canisius 10 - 5 - 1
4. Hobart 10 - 6
5. RIT 9 -7 - 1
Tonite Elmira at Mercyhurst
Hobart at Canisius
Oswego at RIT (counts for RIT's conf. record) BUT NOT
Oswego's SUNY )
St. Bona at Scranton
So Tomorrow - Sunday 1/31 - lets see some scores - because when
I pick up the Buffalo SNOOZE - all I'm going to be able to
read about is the SUPER BOWL PREVIEW and frankly I've had
e'nuff football hype for a decade. I'm a Bills fan but ...
college hockey is #1.
