All this discussion about the best team. Just look at the NHL. The
regular season means nothing, except for playoff home ice and
seedings.The best team is the one that wins the Stanley Cup, period.
Like it or not. A middle of the pack team during the regular season
can win it all, and they are the champs. The regular season is like
spring training. The playoffs are not the second season, they are the
only season. And so it is in college hockey and the NCAA playoffs
(except here it is single elimination, a lot tougher than a best four
out of seven series). To me, national (Stanley Cup) champions equals
the best.
