IT'S CORNELL'S TURN ON TOP!
Big Red Are Third Different ECAC Leader In As Many Weeks
Despite a 7-6 loss at Princeton on Friday, Cornell emerged from
the weekend as the new ECAC leader. The Big Red found themselves on
top thamks to a 5-3 win over Army on Saturday, Harvard's double-dip at
Brown and Yale, and Clarkson, St. Lawrence and RPI playing outside the
league.
Yale's sweep of Dartmouth and Harvard moved the Elis into a tie for
second as Tim Taylor is quietly forging the ECAC story of the year in
New Haven. Brown's win over Harvard was the first against the Crimson in
10 years as the struggling Harvard team has now dropped five of their
last six.
ECAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ray Letourneau, Yale SR G, Penacook ,NH
The steady netminder has had busier weekends but his stopping 36
of 40 shots extended Yale's win streak to 5 and pushed the Elis into a
second place tie with wins over Dartmouth and Harvard.
ECAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Troy Ewanchyna , Princeton FR C, Sask.
Had 2 assists in 7-6 upset of Cornell and then set up late game
tying goal in 2-2 tie with Colgate
