How about the situation at Princeton, for example.
 
In a Feb 14 USCHO article Adam Wodon wrote:
 
"Princeton senior Mike Bois was declared academically ineligible by the
school thus ending his career.  Though his grades were well within generally
accepted levels, Bois . . . fell victim to Princeton's own higher standards."
 
Or take the mid season exam break that iced Tiger hockey.  The Tigers broke
for exams after the January 11th game v. Dartmouth and did not play again
until January 31st at Cornell.  They were 8-4-1 before the break and 3-4-2
after (in conference).
 
Right or wrong here is a competitive Division 1 athletic program weighted
more towards academics than athletics.
