COMMONLY USED ABBREVIATIONS FOR THE NC$$ DIVISION I TEAMS
(while we're on the subject NC$$ is a commonly used abbreviation for
NCAA).

Shouldn't use abbreviations for: Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Clarkson,
Colgate and Cornell.
This is just a brief guide as to what I see used for abbreviations
frequently. Abbreviations for Notre Dame, North Dakota and Miami
might not always be clear so it is suggested that you write them out.
You should never use abbreviations exclusively for the above ones listed
since there are three UM's and three CU's. Always use UAF for Alaska
Fairbanks since simply AF could be confused with Air Force.
These are suggested abbreviations for use in the subject line.
You should ALWAYS! write out the full names of the schools involved
AT LEAST ONCE in the body of the message to eliminate any possible
confusion.
