I would like to second Bill Fenwick's complimentary remarks about
Tim Taylor. I've been watching ECAC hockey for a long time, and Taylor's
teams always seem to play "better than they should;" I've attributed their
"overachievement" to Taylor's coaching. He also strikes me as being a
really classy guy. He sems to be able to attract one or two really good
players and then inspire the rest of his charges to play over their heads.
I'm thinking in particular of the mid-80's Yale teams centered on Randy Wood,
Bob Logan, Bob Brooke, and Bob Kudelski .... they always had mediocre
goaltending and defense, but always did extrememly well.
