It was a fun game for the home fans to watch as SLU dominated a young
Dartmouth team which was only playing its second game of the season. Mike
Lappin's second consecutive 4 goal night and Laperriere's five assists were
the offensive highlights. In fact, SLU's version of LA LAW (Lappin, Lappin,
LaCroix, LaCroix, and Laperriere) has come up with an amazing 44 points (17
goals and 27 assists) in just the past three games, including the 5 All LA
goals against Dartmouth. Much of that success is due to La Power Play
which hit on 4 of 6 chances (12 of 18 over the past three games). Dartmouth
was 0 for 7 on its power play. Shot totals reflect pretty well the balance
of the game as the second period was clearly Dartmouth's best.
I would guess that tonight's game against Vermont will cool off SLU's
recent scoring spree. On the other hand, I'll bet the folks at Clarkson
are licking their chops with the prospect of Dartmouth coming over to the
new Cheel Arena, especially after the tie in the final game last year.
