Clarkson's bell (Delta Sigma Phi's bell) is still alive and well in Cheel
Arena, as well as a loud, obnoxious siren that goes off when the players
skate onto the ice and everytime they score. The fans are great and into
the games just as they were when I was there in the early eighties (they
just can't go to the Boiler Room for progressions before Friday night
games!).
As far as the name change, I believe I was in the first class ('85) to
graduate from Clarkson University. While I was disappointed in the loss of
tradition in the name change when I was there, I'm still a "techer" as is
my husband, who has his bachelors degree from Clarkson College and his
masters degree from Clarkson University.
I wish the Knights continued success for 1996!!!!
Let's go Tech!!!
