To followup on Mike's reply to my original message, I offer the following.
 
In an article from the USCHO that dicusses the players chosen for the
World Junior team and what college teams they came from, the following
quote appears:
 
"Boston University had two players announced, but one of the players,
freshman Dan LaCouture, has left BU."
 
I take this to mean that he left, for wahtever reasons, and doesn't plan on
coming back.

I don't think any of the news articles on USCHO (not the CH Home Page)
have
stated this.  There have been some comments by people on the message
board
there who feel Lacouture is not going to return, but those have not been
substantiated and should only be categorized as those peoples' opinions.
