HOCKEY EAST KARHU PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DAVID CULLEN, SO D, MAINE
Cullen (St Catherine's, ONT) scored three goals and added two assists for
five points as Maine rolled to two wins over Boston University and a
victory over New Hampshire.  Cullen led the Maine defense which allowed
three goals total in three games.  He ranks second in overall scoring among
Hockey East degensemen with five goals and 23 assists for 28 points in 34
games.
HONORABLE MENTION: Chris Masters (F, Boston College); Martin Legault (G,
Merrimack); Russ Guzior (F, Providence).
 
HOCKEY EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
DOUG SHEPPARD, F, PROVIDENCE
Sheppard (Georgetown, ONT) tallied three goals and added an assist in
Providence's weekend sweep of Mass Lowell.  He earned the game's No. 1 star
in Friday's 6-1 win as he netted two goals and an assist, his first
multiple-goal game.  Sheppard has totals of six goals and 11 assists for 17
points this season in 27 games.
