0 Twelve news organizations were on hand today as UMaine hockey coach
Shawn Walsh discussed his upcoming cancer treatment. He also talked
about the "inspiring" reaction to his recent diagnosis from fans,
friends and current and former players.  WZON (AM 620) covered the news
conference live.  Also attending were Channel 2, Channel 5, Channel 7,
Channel 8 (Portland), Channel 51 (Portland), Channel 13 (Portland), the
Bangor Daily News, the Portland Press Herald, the Lewiston Sun-Journal,
Maine Public Radio and the Associated Press.  WZON plans to broadcast
excerpts during Wednesday's "Hang Time" program between 4-6 p.m.  Walsh
will leave late next week for California, to begin the first of two
twenty-day immunotherapy treatment regimens.
