It's good for him to get the scholarship, but I don't think it was a
good deed of the dealership. Lets think about this for a minute... now
if Dodge did the right think by not giving him the truck, then why did
they give money to this kid. Something is wrong somewhere, they didn't
want any trouble with this kid going to see a lawyer, so they kept him
happy by giving him money to forget about what happened.
I don't care what Dodge gives to umaine, they put any money in my
pocket, do they give money for students to pay their bills, books.. I
haven't seen any of it. They sponsor "sport" programs, I'm not saying
that is a bad thing, but people saying how generous dodge is to umaine,
lets not consider them donating to all of umaine, correct me if I'm
wrong, but I've only heard of dodge sponsoring the sporting events.
They don't sponsor concerts, activities, rallies here on campus, not
to my knowledge. So I'm not going to highly praise dodge for giving us
money, they can also write it off as a donation, they aren't losing
anything. They would have won a lot more support if they just gave the
guy the truck, would have saved a lot of headaches in the long run, do
you think that these companies are just going to donate a car or truck
for free, they write it off, so it's no big deal for them. This is
just my opinion, anybody who wants to dispute with us, I welcome their
response with an open mind.
