It is my understanding that WZON will be cutting to coverage of the UMaine/UNH
game in between UMaine Women's Basketball action, much like they have only the
other way around during the regular season. I may be wrong! I have not heard
anything about tape delay.

It seems a little redundant to have both mediums (radio & TV) covering the
same game, when hockey fans are such loyal listeners and this is playoff time
for "our" sport, too, but Dale Duff must have made that call! He may be
indicating a preferred market, thinking UMaine Hockey is losing it's fan base.
Attendance may be down, for whatever reason(s), but not that much and you
still have the majority of seats filled at premium prices, with premiums paid
for the right to purchase tickets, whereas Women's basketball has a much
larger proportion of seats filled at "special" prices, no waiting list that I
know of, with no assurance from the administration that this popularity will
continue after Cindy leaves. I personally firmly believe they have built a
STRONG fan base, with interest that will survive a long time, but what do I
know!?! I also believe that Coach Giannini has what it takes to build a great
program in Men's basketball at UMaine. With these three programs going
strong, plus the football program with a new stadium, I can see great things
happening at UMaine!

Now if we can just get the students interested in again attending games.......
